Further Up The Path
(BOA Editions, 2019)

In conversation with Jessica Cohen & Aviya Kushner

The new collection by Daniel Oz, Israeli-born musician and the author of four books of Hebrew poetry and micro-fiction, is published by Rochester’s BOA Editions. Presented bilingually with a new English translation by Man Booker Prize-winning translator Jessica Cohen, these brief fables engage with vast concepts about human nature. Further Up the Path offers no answers, moralizing, or conclusion: only an uneasy bewilderment with the paradoxes of the human—and animal—condition.

Moderator Aviya Kushner is a translator, poet, and author of highly praised The Grammar of God. She is The Forward’s language columnist and associate professor at Columbia College Chicago.
