KristallnachtReflectionsKRISTALLNACHT REFLECTIONS

Perilous Journeys After Kristallnacht

Authors Reflect on Local Survivor Stories

This commemoration of the 1938 Kristallnacht pogrom features reflections and discussion on why survivors’ experiences still matter by a panel of current and former Democrat & Chronicle journalists who contributed to the anthology Perilous Journeys: Personal Stories of German and Austrian Jews Who Escaped the Nazis.

Most of these survivors are gone, but their voices are heard in the Perilous Journeys web book. After the Yom Hashoah observance next spring, all local survivor testimonies will be made available on the internet.

Panelists: Doug Mandelaro, Mark Hare, Patti Singer, Michael Wentzel
Moderated by Ronny Frishman.
Reception to follow.

Sponsored by the Center for Holocaust Awareness and Information (CHAI) and JCC’s Rochester Holocaust Survivors Committee
